Some 25 members of Iran's liberal Islamic opposition movement had a meeting with
a top ministry official and handed in a letter to the minister, protesting their
exclusion from running in the February 18 parliamentary elections. Dozens of IMF
candidates, including 12 in Tehran, have been barred from running, as they were
in 1996.
