| The
Fifth Majles of the Islamic Republic of Iran was inaugurated at 08:45 on
the 12th day of Khordad of 1375 (2nd June 1996). The Majles held 270
representatives of the people of Iran from 26 counties divided into 196
constituencies. One seat from five of these constituencies was allocated
for the representatives of the religious minorities of Iran. These were
the Armenians (North & South), Assyrians, Jews and Zoroastrians. |
