Executive By-Law of Election Law of the Islamic Consultative Assembly - Approved in 1999 -

Chapter 4 : Campaigning
Article 38:
From the time of nomination until beginning of official campaigning, any campaign activity under titles of the nominees shall be forbidden.
Article 39: 
Election campaigning of nominees shall begin 8 days before election and shall end exactly 24 hours before the election.
Article 40: 
Should the nominees wish to benefit from the comment of various personalities, the comments are required to be without name and title and the relevant documents singed by him/her should be handed to the executive board.
Article 41: 
Upon announcement of support by groups and different communities to their given nominee, he/she shall publish their supports in his/her campaign notices.
Article 42: 
Erection of any sign to show the location of the polling stations is allowed.
Article 43:
Photos shall represent the form and shape of the candidate with the diversity in size, paper material and color being permissible.
Article 44: 
Writing of campaign information on top and under the photo is permissible.
Article 45:
Display of any campaign works in the form of placard by the groups and parties is allowed providing that they just encourage participation of people in elections and there is no mention of names of nominees.
Article 46:
Should the nominees wish to have joint campaigns, they can only use the same two types of photos.
Article 47: 
Installation and use of speaker is allowed only at the polling stations and speech saloons. Use of speaker outside the places stated above is forbidden.
Article 48:
Members of the nominated stations, before election, shall eliminate any campaign notices from the polling stations and shall keep the polling stations clean throughout the election.
Article 49:
Establishment of campaign centers in villages and cities and also in each district of big cities is allowed. Before such establishment, the name of the center and the person in charge are required to be announced to the relevant governor general.
Article 50:
The nominees shall give clear explanations to their supporters to prevent them from tearing off the campaign notices and campaigns against other nominees.
Article 51:
The municipal offices shall specify suitable places for display of campaign notices.
Article 52:
Governor generals shall take step to eliminate the campaign notices which have been displayed in the wrong places through the police force, municipality and other local authorities.
